About Calum

Calum is a 13-year old DJ from Dublin, Ireland. He moves between various music genres such as Techno, Trance, Tech-Trance and House, but has taken a particular liking to the new ‘big-room/ techno’ genre and the type of tracks being produced by Hardwell and Maddix right now. His main preference for the people on the dance-floor is “heavy beats, trance & acid.”

DJ Calum used his free-time wisely during the initial Covid-19 lockdown in April 2020 when he learned to use his DJ decks. Five months later, he uploaded his first techno mix to YouTube and it received nearly 5,000 views. During the following two-year period, he uploaded ten more mixes to his YouTube channel, with one alone receiving over 25,000 views.

He began to build a large social media following and attract the attention of Irish radio. DJ Calum was invited to perform a guest mix on Mark Mc Cabe’s IGnite radio show on iRadio, Dublin. To date, he has performed music sets on all major Irish radio channels, including Tracey Clifford’s ‘the pump’ and Jenny Greene’s ‘the Greene Room’ on national radio station RTE 2FM.

Calum and brother Jackson (aka hype-man) who began to join him in the DJ booth were successful in their auditions for the infamous Late Late Toy Show, and shortly after they performed successfully on live television in front of a worldwide audience of 1.8 million viewers. The following week, they were invited back to RTE television studios to appear on The Late Late Show to chat with legendary chat show host Ryan Tubridy about their experiences performing in front of a worldwide audience the previous week. There were tears of joy from Calum when he and brother ‘hype-man Jackson’ were invited to play at a massive gig with DJ Jenny Greene and the RTE Concert Orchestra at Iveagh Gardens in Dublin the following summer in front of an audience of 5,000 people. This was a huge success.

Since their Late Late Show appearances, DJ Calum has been tearing up dance floors at weddings, birthday parties, communion parties, confirmation parties and more with banging house music and music for everybody.

Calum has just started his very own podcast called ‘Let Rip’ which will feature music from all of the hard-hitting genres above. He plans to squeeze in an episode of Let Rip each month alongside being a first year student in secondary school, training boxing, MMA and Rugby on most days of the week.

DJ Calum is a busy young lad who kick-started his acting career by successfully auditioning for and participating in Toy Show The Musical where he performed on stage on most days of the week over the festive period of 2022/ 23.

In January 2023, he launched his very own under 18’s event night called 'Keep it Peeled' which will feature all current and up-to-date house and chart music. Follow 'Keep it Peeled' on Instagram for details and watch this space!!
